This program provides youth with the skills and experience needed to be leaders and outdoor educators. Teens will need to fill out a short questionnaire. Space is limited to only 5 junior educators each week. There is a certificate upon completion. If you are interested please fill out the questionnaire and we will be in touch.

Session 1 - Brainiac Blastoff - July 4-8th
Have you ever made a garden trellis before? What about a solar oven? Or natural paints? Brainiac Blastoff is perfect for kids who want to develop their inner engineer. In this program kids will do a little less hiking and more building. While keeping in line with the core curriculum this course will focus on making things to support the garden. Participants should be ready to spend the entire time outdoors. Time to build some memories! Session 2- Rooted Hearts - July 11-15th
Do you want to learn how to move silently through the woods with your senses raised up high? Do you want to learn how to listen to plants in the garden? Rooted Hearts is a perfect way for kids to be one with nature. Participants will learn all about what they have in common with the natural world. While keeping in line with the core curriculum, this course will focus on the love that we have for nature in our hearts. Participants should be ready to spend the entire time outdoors. It’s dirt time! Session 3- Budding Botanists July 18-22nd
Ever dig in the compost just to see what’s up? Ever track water’s movement through the ecosystem? Budding Botanists is a week for campers to explore nature. Together, children will learn how to set up experiments on the land to investigate why plants thrive in certain habitats. While keeping in line with the core curriculum this course will focus on the scientific method and experimentation. Participants should be ready to spend the entire time outdoors. Grab your magnifying glasses, it's time to investigate! Session 4- Fruits of our Labor - July 25-29th
Have you designed a garden before? Or painted a beautiful mural? Can you mimic a bird call in the garden? Fruits of Our Labor is designed for campers to engage their imagination through cooperation. In this program they will be finding their voices of expression. While keeping in line with the core curriculum this course will focus on artistic expression. Participants should be ready to spend the entire time outdoors. Time to make some magic! |
