HEALTHY
​ROOTS

Healthy Roots aims to increase children’s preferences for, and awareness of crops that can grow in school gardens, in their backyards at home, or at local Sonoma County farms.

TEEN apprentice PROGRAM

This program trains and hires teens for 6 weeks during the summer to perform basic garden maintenance and install irrigation systems at SGN affiliate schools.

​HABITAT

This program provides consultation to teachers and students, as well as funding to create wildlife habitat projects at school sites.

Seed saving
​& sharing

Seeds are a living link to our ancestors. Humans have a rich culture of seed saving that goes back thousands of years to the beginning of agriculture. Today, when we grow our heritage, non-hybridized seeds, we continue a story that began many generations in the past. We can all take part in adding a chapter to that story.

​WATER-WISE
​Mini grants

In partnership with Harmony Farm Supply, we offer eligible affiliate schools Water Wise mini grants which include free irrigation design, installation support and up to $400 in funding for a drip irrigation system. ​
